WEBSITE OF WILDFOWL ARTIST TOM BALDWIN

The interpretive style tends to deal more with the energy of a bird species rather than its physical appearance.   Some people I know refer to interpretive as “modern art” type carvings.  I find these kind of carvings hard to plan as they usually originate from a very old, tried and true artistic origin…, inspiration.   Once an idea takes hold, I find  this style of carving has no boundaries or rules and is motivated by what is visually and artisticly pleasing.
